Duh!

We've had these blocks for 2 years, I think. Tonight was the first night I thought to put them in any kind of order besides just stacking them and knocking them over. Duh! (on me!)

She Jumps For Joy

This was fun. We would count, then she would jump, insist on seeing the picture and then we'd both crack up laughing. I'm so glad they invented digital cameras because had they not, these pictures and the "missed" jump pictures would have used up 2 rolls of film. :)

Grocery Shopping

KB participated in some life lessons tonight at the grocery store. (the small cart also limits over spending!)

Mosaic Flag

It's hard to tell from this picture, but I put red dots and blue dots so she would know where to put her squares. I made the squares too big for the space but we made it work.
There were also too many dots so I ended up helping her finish. I took over the job of putting the glue down and she just did the squares.

New Unit: America/4th of July

Here are the books for this unit. Oddly, we had more on our shelf than we found at the library. (I didn't go to the library with a list like I did with the beach unit, though.)

Beach Unit all wrapped up

As our first unit comes to an end I thought I'd share some photos from our day at the beach.

I think I've also decided that 3 weeks is too long and we both started to loose interest. We'll try 2 weeks for the next one.

Hawaiian Lei

This Hawaiian lei was fun to make while still in our "jaw-mas"! =) KB even had to figure out the pattern to keep going.

Puzzle Independence

I found some new 12 piece wooden puzzles by Melissa & Doug. The box comes as a set of 4. KB did all 4 by herself and was so proud.

Sandy Footprint

Start with a traced footprint. Brush over with glue, covering the whole print, sprinkle with sand and....ta-da! a sandy footprint!

Sunshine, sunshine....

We can't talk about the beach and not have a sun shining, so today we made the sun. KB used her new paint dot markers.
KB also signed up for the summer reading club at the library this past Friday. Well,....we've finished the required reading already, but will continue to keep track of our reading times up til Aug.
