Week 2 - Simple Science

Bubble Reactions....

materials: milk, food coloring, dish soap

1. drop the food coloring in to the bowl of milk

2. quickly after, drop a drop of dish soap in to the milk

The food coloring spread out really fast as soon as the soap was dropped in. KB really liked this and we ended up using a lot of milk because she wanted to try all the different colors. She then decided it would be fun to see what shapes or images the milk turned in to (like looking at clouds) around the coloring. I don't have pictures of them, but, a few she found were a mom feeding a baby and a man walking down the street. :)

Circle Time

Here's a quick look at our circle time board.
Everyday we include a color, shape, "environmental" sign, calendar with days of the week and month, the day numbers also work for our counting and patterns, the weather, how we dress for that weather, simple telling time and a nursery rhyme.

We survived our first week of preschool. It was really a training week to get used to sitting in chairs, doing work, etc. Turns out that KB wants to sit at the table and do work for 3 hours straight.... =/ (even though you can't tell that from the picture below, haha) We also do a "circle time" for about 25 min in the morning.
