Sandy Footprint

Start with a traced footprint. Brush over with glue, covering the whole print, sprinkle with sand and....ta-da! a sandy footprint!

Sunshine, sunshine....

We can't talk about the beach and not have a sun shining, so today we made the sun. KB used her new paint dot markers.

KB also signed up for the summer reading club at the library this past Friday. Well,....we've finished the required reading already, but will continue to keep track of our reading times up til Aug.

Since I'm not a knower of all things crabby, I do not know how many legs a crab has. After taking this picture, I took 2 legs off (because Mr. Crab didn't have that many). So, please don't judge us on our number of crab legs.

Sea Life Sorting

We had a sticker sheet with all these stickers randomly placed on them. I put a different one in each square and had KB sort out the rest of the sticker page.

Beach Patterns

These were obviously way too easy for KB. The whole process, from getting in to the chair, telling her what to do and having her do them took 30 sec. at the most. I want to do some sort of pattern work either every day or every other day, but I'll have to make them a little more challenging.

Our 1st themed unit!

We are starting our first theme today - the beach/ocean. I've planned on it to last about 2.5 weeks. Here are the books we have to go along with the theme. Half of them came from the library and the others I found on KB's book shelf.

We aren't going to start a real "schedule" until Aug. or Sept. so our activities are just kind of "go with the flow" for the summer. I think it will be good to ease KB in to a more strict routine later.
